Ticket is Booked
I passed biology. Not with flying colours, but a pass is a pass and all that I needed. That being out of the way, I just booked my ticket. Yay dad. And yay Aeroplan. He had 111,500 points and the ticket was 110,000. Huzzah. HUZZAH. Unfortunately it was about a kabillion points for first class, but I am NOT complaining at all. (Just out of personal shock, I must tell you that it would cost $11,000 CAD to fly first class to Australia). So now everything in a whirlwind of craziness and mayhem, having just received my official acceptance from the university. Ooooh, I wrote "school" for a moment, but apparently they call it "UNI" not "school", which means high school. Must learn the lingo. Must catch a dingo. Har har. English major trying to rhyme. Cue the nerd alert.Anyway. Much to do (nothing Australia-related, but much nonetheless), so I am out of here for the time being.

Leave: June 30
Return November 30
Zahida informs me that this is exactly 153 days (although with the time change, chances are, she might be just a little bit off).
As Dean said, the only cool thing about going away is the going away party. Right on, Dean. I'm sure we'll think of something.
Woot.

SO happy for you Sara. 5 months without my Shooi though. It's starting to hit me:( But Im just selfish.
I love you
sigh, you will be missed. but aus is a good opportunity and i am sure you will do a lot of partying, err, studying there. and after, we'll get together and regale each other with tales of studying abroad.
Remember to "slip, slap, slop" (slip on a t-shirt, slap on a hat sunscreen and slop on the sunscreen). It's the Aussie motto to keep safe in the sun. Even though you are going in winter.
They also have a great sentence too: "Take only photographs, leave only footprints". That is their green side to protect their Aboriginal sacred landmarks. Make sure you travel around while you're there, and tell us stroies, often.
And by the way it's not Australia, it's "'Stralia". They abbreviate EVERYTHING inscluding the name of the country. A tinnie = a can of beer, a barbie = bbq, arvo = afternoon. You'll be saying "G'day mate" before you know it.
Aussie woot-dom awaits!
oh your're gonna have a blast! i spent 7mos in australia last year and just loved it.
where all are you planning to go? make sure you take the time to get to the west coast. perth is beautiful and there is plenty to do. not many people make it that far but it is totally worth it.
